About

Following our (snappily titled) paper ‘Soundtrack to a stabbing: what Rob’s choice of music over dinner tells us about why he ended up spilling the custard’ at The Academic Archers conference in February 2017, we started having great online conversations with others about the interesting effect that music brings to our beloved radio docu-drama.

Through Ambridge FM, we continue to track, ponder and share ideas about what on earth might be going on over the ‘airwaves’ of the Borsetshire village.

Based at the University of Liverpool, we are a lecturer and PhD student double act with research interests in voice and vocality; theories of identity, bodies, sexuality, race and gender; Anglo-American popular music; opera; music production and songwriting.

Please do drop us a line!
